i think there is a forum o totalwar.com and there are other total war forums like heaven thing....why not you all discuss this there actually?

Scipii are my favorite fraction.
I also enjoy the game playing with the Greeks and the Selucid Empire.

Every faction is awesome lol....seriously, I like them all. Some of my favorites are probably Greece, Macedon, and the Seleucid Empire.

Medieval Total War 2 is better.. But for Rome, I really like Greece, the spartans are imba =)

Not sure what the special ships are, but I'm guessing you'd just build a better dock.

Hoplites are only slow and hard to turn if you keep them in phalanx formation...when you're moving you should get out of that.....and they are amazing in phalanx! They just slow attackers, which is why I somewhat prefer Macedon. They got good cavalry too.

I've got a game mod for rome total war, allows me to play with napoleonic units. :)

I can win anything heroicly if I have horses or greek hoplities!

200horse (me, roman first mounted unit) vs 2000gaul infantory I won heroic-ly but it took like half an hour just charging and retreating.....

hehehe.... that reminds me of the time i surronded a fort with only a general in in it my reinforcements routed the general who was like 8 star command the general turned around to run for it and within seconds of running in the other direction he ran his horse into a hoplite spear wall(by the way how do you get videos off youtube onto here?)

and about the god question you just need to build temples or sacred places etc...to that god

Okay, boy, here's one for ye.
Have you ever survived an attack from a large germanic army with only five early legionary cohorts, a general and an auxilia unit? And I'm not talking about random weak germanic units, but chosen axemen and their best cavalry, forgot their name,...
Have you ever beaten a force of outnumbering Carthaginian elephants, golden band and golden band cavalry with republican units? It's damn hard.
Have you ever won a historical battle, the one were Carthage ambushes the Republic at the lake?
I simply wrote the bridge battle to explain about the retreat bug, lad.

I used to play Rome, lad, but I haven't played in 2 years and I can't now because I have too many exams. ):

I just don't. No particular reason,...

I used to play it, I went over to mediveal 2 instead. Rome total war was really a mess, it had some very nice things about it though. The diffrent factions felt really exotic etc.

You wanna know about something i've managed before?

I've defeated 5 large egyption armies who were all about 1500 sized all in a row who were attacking a city and my only defenders were a Roman general, 2 mercinary Skirmishers from the deserts, 1 wardogs, 1 Hastati and 1 hoplite mercinary and the hastati and hoplites were already half dead. Which altogether came close to 400 defenders. Every battle was heroic too.
